Colin Jost takes playful jabs at wife Scarlett Johansson on Saturday Night Live season finale

Colin Jost made a few jokes at his wife Scarlett Johansson's expense during the Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live's season finale.

In the segment, the 41-year-old comic and his costar Michael Che, 40, had to recite lines written by the other person in a tradition called the Christmas Joke Swap.

Jost said, 'New York State now allows movie theaters to serve alcohol - which is how I'm finally able to enjoy my wife's little art movies.'

The graphic then switched to an image of Johansson in her 2021 MCU blockbuster Black Widow.

Jost then made a reference to her past cultural appropriation controversies, as she played the lead role in the 2016 movie Ghost in the Shell, an adaptation of Japanese anime; and in 2018, withdrew from playing a transgender character in a film titled Rub & Tug.

'I'm kidding, honey, I love all of your movies and if you ask me you're an even better Black Widow than Coretta Scott King,' said Jost, referring to the late wife of famed civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.

Che, in an effort to hinder Jost, previously brought out a woman he called a 'poet, author and activist … who was last on this show, season three, 46 years ago ... please welcome Dr. Hattie Davis, ladies and gentlemen.'

The fictional civil rights activist, seen wincing at some of the jokes, was played by actress Daphne Skeeter, according to ScreenRant.

The Weekend Update co-anchors did not go easy on one another, as Jost penned a joke at Che's expense, that he had to read.

Said Che: 'Last month, Beyonce posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a chrome Versace dress and platinum blond hair that many people online described as "too white" - in fact, Beyonce looked so white that I was finally attracted to her.'

Jost and Johansson were first seen engaging in PDA in May of 2017 when she appeared on the NBC comedy staple.

They emerged as a couple publicly in December of 2017, revealing their engagement in May of 2019.

The celebs exchanged vows at Johansson's home in Palisades, New York in October of 2020, and welcomed a child together in August of 2021. Johansson is mother to daughter Rose, nine, from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac.
