RASMUS HOJLUND’S horror stats at Manchester United have been laid bare – with only Wout Weghorst having a worse record after 24 games.
The Red Devils coughed up an initial £64million to sign Hojlund from Atalanta last summer.
That fee could rise to £72m should the 20-year-old striker hit his targets.
But that could be a while coming after a rollicking from Old Trafford legend Roy Keane.
Hojlund missed a host of chances as United scraped past Wigan 2-0 in last night’s FA Cup third round tie.
The game was his 24th in a United shirt.
And during that time, he has netted just six goals in all competitions while also bagging zero assists.
But unfortunately for Hojlund, out of all strikers to have made their debut for United since 2013/14, that is the second-worst record going.
Romelu Lukaku leads the way with 17 contributions ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (16) and Marcus Rashford (14).
Even the likes of Anthony Martial (10), Edinson Cavani (9) and Alexis Sanchez (9) had more goal involvements after 24 games than Hojlund.
And that’s not even mentioning the records of Mason Greenwood (8), Memphis Depay (8) and Radamel Falcao (8).
But it’s loan flop Weghorst who has even worse numbers than Hojlund, contributing just five goals in his first 24 United games.
It’s not just strikes and assists that are proving hard to get for United’s latest forward.
Hojlund also boasts the joint-lowest win percentage of all previously mentioned Red Devils strikers.
Just 10 of his 24 games have resulted in victory, putting him alongside Greenwood and Martial with a win percentage of 42.
And with Hojlund boasting the six-highest amount of minutes on the pitch from United’s 11 attackers, his lack of contribution in the final third is becoming painfully clearer game by game.
Keane certainly didn’t hold back after the Dane’s showing against Wigan.
He said: “I would be fuming with him. We wanted United to show a part of their game and they have in terms of missing chances and not being clinical.
“When your striker is missing chances, we can say unlucky all day, they are great opportunities.
“Put the ball in the back of the net and stop messing around.”
