Lionel Messi is back! Inter Miami star named in squad following injury

Lionel Messi is set to return this weekend from a month-long injury absence, as he was named in Inter Miami's squad for their match vs. the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

Messi suffered a hamstring injury on March 13 vs. Nashville SC in a CONCACAF Champions Cup match, in which he departed after 50 minutes.

The Argentine missed three league games while he was sidelined (Miami went 1-1-1) and also sat out the team's CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinal first leg loss vs. Monterrey on Wednesday.

While Messi is back, seven players have been ruled out of the Colorado match, including winger Robert Taylor.

Including the 2-1 loss to Monterrey earlier this week, the Herons have failed to win their last three matches in all competitions.

On Wednesday, Messi reportedly clashed with Monterrey coach Fernando Ortiz following Inter Miami's 2-1 loss to the Mexican side.

Ortiz suggested before the game that Miami would get favorable calls because of Messi.

And after the match - in which Miami saw six players booked and one sent off - Messi 'angrily' approached Monterrey's locker room and began yelling, according to ESPN.

Messi has three goals and one assist in three league games this year.

Miami, meanwhile, is second in MLS' Eastern Conference with 11 points through seven games.
