Liverpool fans insist Luis Diaz is 'channelling his inner-Roberto Firmino' after the Colombian's 'pure filth' no-look finish in the 2-0 FA Cup third round win over Arsenal

Liverpool fans have been quick to gush over Luis Diaz's emphatic no-look strike to put the Reds 2-0 up in added time at Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.

Jurgen Klopp's side recorded an impressive win over Arsenal in the cup, having drawn 1-1 at Anfield just a few weeks earlier in the Premier League, and ensured that they are still in the running four different competitions.

The Colombian scored his side's second of the game to put the match to bed, with the Gunners having conceded a Jakub Kiwior own goal in the 80th minute already.

It was a bitter blow for the hosts, who have now lost three on the bounce in all competitions, having missed a number of opportunities to take the lead already in the first half.

Diaz's emphatic finish though sparked plenty of praise on social media, with a number of Liverpool fans comparing the forward to club icon Roberto Firmino, who was known for his cheeky, no-look finishes.

With the hosts a goal down and pushing for an equaliser, the Liverpool No 7 was part of an effervescent counter attack late in the game.

After picking up the ball on the attacking left, Diogo Jota broke across the field, feeding the Colombian on the on the edge of the box over on the right.

Diaz then broke into the area and bore down on goal, smashing the ball home into the top-right corner with aplomb, looking away just before he struck it for good measure.

One fan wrote: 'Diaz with the no-look finish, stop it.'

A second added: 'Picking up where Bobby left off. Pure filth,' followed by a flame emoji.

Another added: 'Luis Diaz channeling his inner Firmino with the no-look finish...'

A fourth admitted they were surprised by the goal, saying: 'I didn’t even realise Diaz did a no-look finish!'

And a fifth wrote: 'Did Diaz just rasp that one in the top corner with a “no-look” as well?'
