ANTHONY MARTIAL has been offered an escape route from Manchester United by Fenerbahce.
The 28-year-old is in the final six months of his contract at Old Trafford and is free to talk to clubs overseas.
The French international has endured an up-and-down time at United since his arrival from Monaco in 2015 and has scored 90 goals in 317 appearances.
Having been shipped out for what was an unsuccessful loan to Sevilla in 2020/21, where he scored just once in 12 games, Martial returned to the Red Devils last season and scored nine goals in 29 appearances.
This term he has managed only two goals in 19 matches - but boss Erik ten Hag still said this week that United were in talks with the player over a contract extension.
However, Turkish outlet Takvim say that Fenerbahce want to sign him now and have made an initial offer of £6.8m to sign him this month rather than wait until the summer.
The report also states that Super Lig side believe their “good relationship” with the Premier League outfit, which has seen Fred move to Turkey while goalkeeper Altay Bayindir headed the other way, will help them seal the cut-price move.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now at the helm of football operations with United following his £1.03billion investment in the club.
He met with manager Ten Hag this week and is set to inject a whopping £238m into United and hopes to oversee a return to the club's glory years.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, has confirmed the club have taken up the option to extend the contracts of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Hannibal Mejbri by a further 12 months.
However, he added they remain in talks with Raphael Varane as well as Martial over their futures.
And Sergio Reguilon has also had his loan spell from Tottenham terminated.
