Margot Robbie gazes adoringly at husband Tom Ackerley as they make a rare public appearance at swanky Oscars reception in London

Margot Robbie made a rare public appearance with handsome husband Tom Ackerley as they atended the Oscars Nominees Reception at The Dorchester Hotel in London on Saturday.

The Barbie actress, 33, cut a stylish figure in a black leather trench which layered over a chic mini dress and toted her essentials in a mini Chanel bag.

Meanwhile British film producer Tom, also 33, opted for a dapper pin-stripped suit and beige shirt.

Despite being joined by a whole host of fellow A-Listers Margot only had eyes for her husband and could be seen gazing adoringly at him.

The couple met on the set of 2013's Suite Française before going on to marry in Margot's native Australia in 2016.

Margot and Tom's production company LuckyChap Entertainment just signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. - according to TheWrap.

She told Metro: 'We started our production company [LuckyCap Entertainment] with our best friends, and it continues to be a wonderful group dynamic. We all really work well together. I feel very lucky.”

Margot and Tom are nominated for the Academy Award for best picture as producers of Greta Gerwig's critically-acclaimed, $1.4B-grossing comedy about the 1959 Mattel doll.

However, some believe that the Asteroid City actress - who scored a $12.5M paycheck to produce and star in Barbie - was snubbed in the leading actress category.

Even if Margot is snubbed she's got three more awards shows in the horizon.

Robbie will compete for two trophies - female movie star of the year and comedy movie star of the year - at the 49th People's Choice Awards, which air this Sunday on NBC.

The Saltburn producer is nominated for two trophies - best actress in a leading role and outstanding British film - at the 77th British Academy Film Awards, which also this Sunday on BBC One.

Margot is up for two more trophies - outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role and outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture - at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards, which air February 24 on Netflix.

Barbie was a box office smash hit and received a total of eight Oscar nominations, though Greta failed to secure a nomination for best director this year, and Margot was also passed over for best lead actress.

The film was released in July and raked in a record-breaking $1.45 billion at the global box office, and $636 million domestically.

The omissions attracted extra attention on account of the fact that Ryan Gosling, 43, did get nominated for best supporting actor for his role as Ken.
