However this March she spilled to the Hollywood Reporter that the real reason for her departure was creative differences with the studio.
'They definitely didn’t want to do it the way I wanted to do it, the only way I was interested in doing it,' Amy explained.
One difference she let slip was that she wanted Barbie to be an inventor and the studio's idea for her invention was a Jell-O high heel.
The current version of Barbie, which counts Margot as one of its producers, is slated to get a summer release next year on July 21, 2023.
