Misfiring Darwin Nunez is a 'worry' for Liverpool, claims Reds legend Didi Hamann... as the £85m striker continues to struggle for goals

Liverpool legend Didi Hamann says the club have a big issue with misfiring striker Darwin Nunez.

The club record £85million signing failed to impress in the goalless draw with Manchester United

Nunez has scored just four goals this season - with his last strike coming against Nottingham Forest two months ago.

Hamann told talkSPORT that the Uruguay international is becoming a concern.

He said: 'I do like Endo, I saw a lot of him in Germany and he scored a good goal a couple of weeks ago so I thought he is adapting to the pace of the Premier League.

'Szoboszlai had a good start to the season but has gone a bit quiet now. Gravenberch is a capable player.

'I think they are missing Alexis Mac Allister, he is probably the best midfielder so far.

'But I think the big issue is the form of Nunez.

'Since he scored them goals away to Newcastle I thought he had come into his own now and be the striker that everyone expected him to be.

'I think he has scored only one or two goals and his form is a bit of a worry.'

Nunez's woe was compounded by him wasting a great opportunity to put his side ahead against Man United in the second-half.

Luis Diaz was calling for a penalty when he was said to have been tripped by goalkeeper Andre Onana, but with several bodies down on the floor Nunez opted to join in the protests towards the referee rather than rolling the ball into an empty net.
