Selena made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut with a little help from her Only Murders in the Building co-star Steve Martin.

The star was joined by Martin, 76 - who has frequently hosted the show in the past - in a bit where he played a gag inventor of the Whoopee Cushion and other famous practical joke devices.

Selena also poked fun of Martin and her other co-star Martin Short, 72, in her opening monologue, saying, 'I was so honored to work with Steve Martin and Martin Short, especially after I googled them to find out who they were.'

Selena put her toned legs on display in a short little black dress, which she paired with black high heels.

The segment on Martin’s inventor character was part of the show American Inventors, where Gomez played the host, Taylor Gosh.

'The automobile, paper cup, dancing, computer. These were all invented. But who did that, and what is their story?' she stated, before introducing Martin. 'We begin with Archie Gizmo, the brilliant inventor of the whoopie cushion.'

The camera then cut to Gizmo, who explained that in the early 60s he was a 'struggling gag inventor.'

'All I had was an early prototype of the cushion. I knew it would be funny to have your boss sit down, and a noise come from his butt, but I just couldn't figure out what noise. I couldn't crack it,' he explained.

It was then that Gizmo met his wife, Ms. Dina Beans, played by Aidy Bryant, 35.

'I saw her from afar. Her energy was magnetic. Her eyes were endless. And every time she sat down - Gas,' he stated, adding, 'It was that night he realized, the funniest noise to come out of a butt was a fart.'

Gizmo then goes on to share that Dina inspired many more of his devices, including the hand buzzer, google-eyed slinky glasses, and electric gum, with her notorious bad luck.

'I fell in love with Dina, and she was behind every good idea I ever had. Because you see, she wasn't just a chronic gas-passer. She was also the viciously most unlucky woman I had ever met,' he stated.

The show then cut to a montage of all the unlucky things that happened to Dina, including being attacked by poisonous snakes hidden in a peanut jar, being struck  by lightning repeatedly, and having her eyeballs pop out of their sockets.

'How this woman did not die between two lightning strikes and a snake attack is between her and God. But Archie's hit pranks just kept coming,' Selena explained.

'Archie became the most famous gag inventor in the world. And it was all thanks to Dina Beans,' she added.

And though Gizmo became rich, he sweetly stated that 'Dina was the prize, and the greatest gag she ever goofed was marrying a guy like me.'

Selena opened up the show with a sharp monologue, as she recalled telling a friend about her starring role in Only Murders in the Building.

'I remember telling my friends that I was cast in a show Only Murders and she said sounds sexy. Any hot co-stars? And I was like ... depends. Do you love the banjo?'

However, she then gave props to both Steve and Martin, calling them SNL legends and said she immediately sought their advice after being asked to host.

'Steve said trust no one. And Marty said I think Steve Martin has been using my credit,' she joked about their replies.

'I was like, Miley, is that just an excuse for me to do an impression of you on the show? And she's like, "Hell, yeah, I'm Miley Cyrus."'

However when various SNL crew members came forward, she declined all of them saying she would wait until 'the afterparty.'

Malone then returned in a skit which saw Selena as a jealous girlfriend, who suspected that her boyfriend was cheating on her.

After her other half left to get paper towels  at a suspicious time in the night, Selena was suddenly visited by her 'intuition' (played by Ego Nwodim, 34) who appeared in the form of a little figure on her shoulder.

'He's not getting paper towels girl, he's cheating,' she told Selena, who dismissed the idea at first, saying, 'No, he's not.'

'What?' a confused Selena asked.

'By that b**** house. That mean your man is creeping he by that b**** house.'

When Selena asked what she should do, she was instructed to 'hack into his Instagram' and 'check his location' then 'break his Xbox.'

Selena followed the directions, chucking the game player out of her window just as her boyfriend had returned.

After a short conversation, he explained that he wasn't cheating and went out again to bring his Xbox back upstairs.

That's when Selena's intuition kicked in yet again, forcing her to 'break his TV' which she did.

'Come on, this cannot happen every time I leave the damn house,' he protested upon seeing his TV get thrown out.

'I'm sorry, it's just I've dated so many basketball players and celebrities,' Selena explained.

'I don't know. Lebron James?' Post replied.

He then confronted Selena, who said she was texting her mother, and after another argument, the couple decided to end the night by having 'angry sex.'

Selena didn't miss a beat as she kept the audience laughing before getting into her next sketch with Post, where she played a babysitter who was trying to party with her friends while watching her baby brother and sister.

Her friends questioned how they were going to be able to party while watching the babies, but Selena assuaged their fears.

'No, we can still totally party all night long. On that note, who wants to drink my dad's beer?'

'Me!,' one of them replied as the twins broke into a cry suddenly.

'Uh-oh, I think one of the babies are up.'

But instead of falling asleep the twins began doing laps around the crib, as Selena admitted she gave them M&M's and they were loaded with sugar.

'Netflix viewers love 'Old Enough,' the hit Japanese show that follows toddlers as they go on an errand all by themselves. And now, we're remaking it here but since Americans don't send toddlers out into the world alone, we had to find an equally helpless group, and we did. Here's a sneak peek of "Old enough: Long-term boyfriends."
