Dwayne Johnson might be best known for the circumference of his arms and his action hero antics on the big screen, but he's also this summer's big style inspiration.

You've got to give it to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: the WWF wrestler-turned-actor has practically got it all. He's one of the most bankable stars in Tinseltown, he's got muscles most of us can only dream of (20-inch biceps, 31-inch thighs), he's got a nonchalant boyish wit and he's also remarkably handsome. He's also, unlike many before him—Arnie Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren and Hulk Hogan—cultivated a look that works for both his six-foot-four-inch height and his bulging build.

In the past we've seen him get playful with his suiting—deep amethyst suits that are cut neatly to his fit frame by Ralph Lauren—while he's no stranger to flexing in tight ultra-fine merino and cashmere knits and clingy tees.

Johnson rocked (sorry) a pale blue ribbed vest that clung to every inch of his gym-honed physique, a pair of tailored, yet loose-fitting smart trousers (likely cut from a wool blend) and a pair of monk-strap loafers. It's arguably the best take on summer wear we've seen so far this year.

Johnson's look is a no-brainer too when it comes to styling it out. All you need to copy it is a pair of smart trousers (the ones you're likely still having to wear to work) and a skimpy vest – Uniqlo does an excellent one that won't cost the earth. Office-worthy, club-ready and even dinner date acceptable, it's an all-round win.

What's more, Johnson's fit is in keeping with a widespread sensibility surrounding going sleeveless. Shawn Mendes is the regular purveyor of baring the flesh in a vest, while Evan Mock's been doing it in vintage Chanel this summer, while Heartstopper star Joe Locke has been repping sleeveless Dior knits. Elsewhere big fashion brands Prada, Paul Smith and Erdem have all been sending models down the catwalk with their arms on show, as have Versace, Etro and Kenzo.
