Real Madrid stalwart Toni Kroos was not offering much insight into the ongoing Kylian Mbappe transfer saga as he refused to comment on the Frenchman's highly-anticipated switch to Los Blancos.
Mbappe is once again being heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, having informed Paris Saint-Germain that he wishes to leave the club at the end of his contract.
The French captain has been close to moves to Real a number of times in his career, seemingly on the verge of a switch in 2022 before signing a lucrative extension with PSG, but has already hinted his future will be revealed before Euro 2024.
However this year it would appear that his heart is set on a departure, with long-term admirers Real Madrid the most likely destination for the forward, who faced Kroos in an international friendly at the weekend.
As such, a number of players for both France and Real Madrid have been asked about the prospect of playing alongside Mbappe - who is probably the best player in the world right now - but Kroos was content to keep his cards close to his chest.

'If even he doesn't know, how can I know? The important thing is to win things. It would be nice for Madrid, but I think we already have a good team,' he said at a press conference.
Kroos, in fairness, is in his own contract limbo, with the German legend still unsure of his future at Real Madrid.
In the decade since joining Los Blancos from Bayern Munich, Kroos has amassed 455 games, scoring 28 goals and assisting another 95 in that time.
He was part of the three-man midfield unit including Luka Modric and Casemiro that rivaled Barcelona's Andres Iniesta-Xavi-Sergio Busquets triumvirate for the title of the best in the world.
Yet after signing a one-year deal at the Bernabeu last term, Kroos remains unsure of whether he will still be playing in the iconic white shirt come the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
One of the issues lies in the fact that Real have put together a frightfully talented young midfield unit including Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, with Federico Valverde also somehow needing to fit into the picture.
As such, Kroos, 34, and Modric, 38, face far less certain futures than Mbappe, 25, who doesn't have constant questions about potential retirement plaguing his every move.
Tchouameni appeared to let slip a hint that Mbappe would indeed be making the move to Spain next summer, although his international captain brushed aside the suggestions with a joke.

Speaking to Telefoot, Tchouameni said: 'The Spanish are aware of the player that Kylian is, although when they see him every day they will realise the player's greatness'.
When Mbappe was asked about the comment on Monday at a press conference ahead of France's friendly against Chile on Tuesday, he joked that the Spaniards could see him regularly as PSG are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
He said: 'Well, I played Real Sociedad [in the last 16], we play Barcelona in quarter finals and if we go through, maybe Atletico in semis!
'So yes, Spaniards will see me a bit more.'
